Air-Operated Diaphragm Pumps (AODD)

Air-Operated Diaphragm Pumps (AODD)

Powered by compressed air, AODD pumps use dual diaphragms to alternately squeeze and transfer liquids. With a simple, rugged design, they have no complex electrical components or spark risks, making them explosion-proof and highly durable with low maintenance costs. Featuring excellent self-priming and dry-run capabilities, they are ideal for harsh environments such as chemical and mining industries.

Difference Between Traditional and Husky Air-Operated Pumps

Traditional air-operated pumps often use fixed valve systems that are complex to maintain and cause high pulsation, leading to unstable flow. Husky pumps feature modular valve systems and durable materials like polypropylene, PVDF, stainless steel, and aluminum, reducing pulsation and enhancing flow stability. Their robust, heavy-duty design handles various fluids with strong self-priming and clog-resistant features, ensuring reliable system performance and lower maintenance costs.

Seal-less, Leak-Free

Seal-less, Leak-Free

No mechanical seals to cause fluid leaks or failures: flexible diaphragms keep process fluid totally isolated, so dry-run episodes never turn into costly clean-ups. Our modular air valve and check-ball assemblies drop out from the pump exterior in just a few steps, letting technicians swap wear parts without unbolting the entire unit. The result? Faster maintenance, shorter downtime, and production lines that stay on tempo.

Valve Seats, Balls, and Diaphragm Material Options

Husky offers various materials to match different fluids and conditions. POM and polypropylene (PP) are durable and cost-effective for general chemicals. PTFE and G.E.T. resist strong acids, bases, and high temperatures. Santoprene rubber is good for abrasive fluids with particles. Fluoroelastomer (FKM) and neoprene (CR) work well with oils and solvents. Nitrile rubber (NBR) suits general liquids and greases. Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) is flexible and weather-resistant, great for moving seals. Metals like stainless steel and aluminum provide strength and durability for tough industrial and high-pressure uses.

Effective Noise Reduction

Air-operated diaphragm pumps generate significant airflow noise during operation due to compressed air use. To reduce this, Husky pumps are equipped with specialized silencers featuring advanced noise-reducing designs and efficient airflow paths. These silencers minimize exhaust noise, suppress pulsation, and improve overall pump smoothness and efficiency.

Husky Modular Air Valve and Seal Design

Husky Modular Air Valve and Seal Design

Mid-to-large and heavy-duty Husky pumps feature modular air valves for easy maintenance, reduced pulsation, and stable flow. Spring-loaded pilot valves speed up operation, while four-bolt sealing ensures leak-free, reliable performance.
Applies to Husky 3300, 1050/15120/2200, and 1590/2150 series.

Optional Real-Time Leak Protection

Equipped with a leak detector installed inside the pump’s control housing and connected to the diaphragm chamber via tubing. If a diaphragm rupture occurs, leaking fluid enters the detector’s sensing area, triggering a yellow LED warning light on the pump and automatically stopping pump operation to prevent further leakage and equipment damage.
